We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join Zipline’s Nest Applications Team. In this role, you will build and manage the mission-critical fulfillment, maintenance, and flight systems that power our operations across Africa and beyond. You will be responsible for the software that orchestrates medical inventory, processes life-saving orders, and coordinates autonomous flight at a global scale.

As a senior leader on the team, you will dive deep into operational workflows to simplify the complex challenges of instant logistics. You will architect modular, resilient systems using Python, Go, and React, ensuring Zipline can move efficiently and intelligently. • Architect and lead the development of full-stack features for Zipline’s fulfillment and flight coordination platforms.
• Design simple, modular, and flexible distributed systems that can evolve with fast-changing logistics needs.
• Develop robust backend services using Python or Go and intuitive frontend interfaces with React.
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka to manage real-time order processing and flight telemetry.
• Optimize and model high-performance databases using Postgres to ensure operational reliability.
• Establish and enforce comprehensive automated testing strategies across unit, integration, and system layers.
• Systematize AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development, testing, and operational monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and direct technical coaching.
• Improve the observability and operational robustness of production systems serving healthcare providers globally.

• 8+ years of experience building and operating production-grade distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in Python, Go, or similar object-oriented backend languages.
• Proven experience building modern frontend applications using React or equivalent frameworks.
• Hands-on experience architecting event-driven systems utilizing Kafka or similar message brokers.
• Strong background in Postgres database modeling and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated history of designing resilient, simple, and flexible software architectures in fast-paced environments.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and improving team throughput by reducing architectural friction.
• Professional fluency in English for collaboration across a global international team.
• Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, or building modern fulfillment/logistics systems.
