Job Description

OpenZeppelin is seeking a Senior Web Developer (Contractor) to lead a strategic migration of openzeppelin.com from HubSpot CMS to a modern Sanity + Next.js architecture. This fully remote contract role is ideal for highly autonomous senior engineers who combine deep frontend expertise with modern AI-native workflows and strong technical SEO knowledge.

You will own the migration end-to-end, including content modeling, frontend development, infrastructure setup, SEO continuity, CRM integrations, and AI-powered workflows for non-technical teams. Working closely with Marketing and Brand stakeholders, you will build a scalable, high-performance website platform that enables OpenZeppelin teams to manage content independently after the migration.

Responsibilities

Lead the full CMS migration from HubSpot CMS to Sanity and Next.js.
Design scalable content models, schema architecture, and content migration workflows.
Preserve SEO rankings through URL mapping, redirects, structured data, and technical SEO optimization.
Build reusable, design-approved frontend component libraries in collaboration with Brand and Marketing teams.
Integrate HubSpot CRM forms, lead capture systems, analytics, and tracking into the new platform.
Implement Claude Code and Sanity MCP integrations to enable AI-powered content workflows.
Manage CI/CD pipelines, hosting infrastructure, staging environments, and deployment workflows.
Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, and AI-driven content discoverability.
Develop interactive website experiences such as dashboards, tools, and custom landing pages.
Create detailed technical and operational documentation to support long-term self-sufficiency.
Support ongoing website improvements, bug fixes, and feature requests during the contract engagement.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional web development experience with strong frontend expertise.
Advanced experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
Strong production experience with Sanity CMS, including schema design, custom Studio components, and GROQ queries.
Experience leading complex CMS migrations from platforms such as HubSpot or WordPress to headless architectures.
Strong understanding of technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and modern web performance optimization.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and deployment platforms such as Vercel or Netlify.
Hands-on experience integrating HubSpot forms and tracking systems into frontend applications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to translate designs into responsive production-ready interfaces.
Excellent English communication skills.
Ability to work independently and drive projects autonomously.
Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or similar AI-native developer workflows.
Nice to have: Experience in blockchain, crypto, Web3, or security-focused environments.
