Zexter is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js, NestJS, and high-load transactional systems to join its fully remote engineering team. In this role, you will build scalable backend services that power critical iGaming operations where financial accuracy, consistency, and reliability are essential.

You will be responsible for designing and developing backend systems, optimizing database performance, ensuring transactional integrity, and owning features throughout their entire lifecycle from implementation and testing to deployment and production monitoring. • Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Design scalable architectures capable of supporting high-load production environments.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database performance for mission-critical systems.
• Ensure transactional consistency, idempotency, auditability, and financial accuracy.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend service integrations.
• Write automated unit, integration, and component tests.
• Perform load and performance testing and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Participate in production monitoring, incident investigation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions.

• 4+ years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• 3+ years of hands-on commercial experience with NestJS.
• 4+ years of production experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Strong expertise in SQL optimization, indexing strategies, and transaction management.
• Deep understanding of dependency injection, modular architecture, and clean architecture principles.
• Experience developing high-load and highly available production systems.
• Experience with automated testing strategies and testing frameworks.
• Experience with load testing and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, consistency guarantees, and audit requirements.
• Experience with code reviews, logging, monitoring, and incident investigation.
• Commercial experience within the iGaming industry.
