Job Description
Rain is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Enterprise engineering team. This role focuses on large-scale data ingestion, payroll processing, and third-party integrations within a distributed microservices architecture, supporting millions of users and high-volume transactional systems.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering initiatives.
- Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed microservices architecture.
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
- Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Create reusable code and libraries to ensure long-term scalability.
- Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture and workflows.
- Monitor and optimize systems for performance and scalability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Strong ownership mindset, able to drive projects end-to-end.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
