Job Description
As a Senior Backend Engineer on Rain’s User Tribe, you will play a key role in building and scaling backend systems that power user access, digital wallets, and employer integrations. You will work in a distributed microservices environment, designing reliable APIs and integrations that support seamless user experiences across web and mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
- Design and implement distributed systems using a microservices architecture.
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
- Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Create reusable code and libraries to ensure scalability.
- Implement observability best practices including logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for architectures, APIs, and workflows.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and scalability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects end-to-end.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
